ThermiTight: Neck & Face Rejuvenation

Sagging skin on the neck and face can have worse effects than on other parts of the body. This is due to the fact that our necks and faces are always visible and can barely be hidden. Many people with sagging skin on the face and neck area may feel insecure about their physical appearance. It can weigh on one’s self-esteem and sense of self-worth. Skin laxity may also be prone to infections and rashes, which will only complicate a patient’s concerns. ThermiTight brings a taut, toned look to the skin along the neck and face. About ThermiTight

ThermiTight provides excellent skin tightening results. The full name for the ThermiTight technology is thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening. The device tightens the skin by using radiofrequency technology. Treatment through ThermiTight can eliminate saggy skin in a painless and minimal risk fashion. ThermiTight has been lauded and used for the past ten years as a revolutionary method to tighten skin throughout the body and face, without damaging soft tissue or muscles. Powered by radiofrequency (RF) energy, ThermiTight rejuvenates the skin from within.

In addition to the short-term tightening that patients will experience, there are numerous long-term benefits as well. The RF waves stimulate collagen production, which bolsters the subdermal scaffolding of support that healthy skin craves. Dr. Korman is an unparalleled expert in the versatility and application of ThermiTight. No matter where you may be, Dr. Korman wants to connect with you.

The ThermiTight Procedure

Unlike most invasive surgical and non-surgical procedures, ThermiTight’s innovative and revolutionary approach utilizes radiofrequency energy to heat the underlying subdermal tissue. By monitoring the temperature of the skin both from the outside (with a specialized heat-detecting camera) and internally with a temperature probe, ThermiTight delivers proper heat to the tissue to ensure skin tightening without damaging the tissue itself. This technique provides optimal healing and minimal recovery. ThermiTight is performed with the use of local anesthesia to numb the treated area; then the physician will insert a small probe that heats the deeper, underlying tissues. Additionally, this probe measures and monitors temperature and maintains stable heat levels during the procedure. A thermal camera also helps monitor the level of heat to the surface skin.

If temperatures rise to an abnormal level, the probe is shut off immediately to allow for maximum awareness and safety during the procedure. ThermiTight is a procedure that happens while the patient is awake. Once the patient is comfortable, Dr. Korman will insert the ThermiTight probe underneath the skin and make back and forth movements throughout the treatment area. The probe delivers radiofrequency energy into the deep tissue to help stimulate collagen production. A heat-sensitive FLIR (forward-looking infrared) camera measures the amount of energy and heat that is being applied in the treated area, so that both internal and external temperatures are measured in real time. After the procedure, the punctures of the patient are covered with a compression wrap. The ThermiTight process typically takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

Rapid Recovery

ThermiTight recovery downtime is minimal, but the patient may experience some minimal swelling or tenderness in the treated area(s). These symptoms typically go away after a few days. Patients are advised to wear a compression wrap around the treated area as it will prevent further swelling and cruising. Tissue may also become firm in smaller areas. If bruising persists, the patient is sometimes advised to apply makeup to the bruised areas until they heal.

Complementary And Alternative Procedures

ThermiTight is a wonderful option for tightening mild to moderate ptosis (sagging). If skin laxity is more pronounced, however, a facelift might be the optimal approach. Dr. Korman can gently remove excess skin along the hairline and contour facial features accordingly. To discuss which procedure works best for your appearance, contact Dr. Korman at your earliest convenience. For a preview of how effective enhancement can be, consider the benefits of a dermal filler.

Our Juvéderm family of products fills the gaps beneath the skin with hyaluronic acid (HA), a compound found naturally in the human body. HA adds volume and hydration to the skin, smoothing the wrinkles above. Fine lines are exacerbated by repetitive muscular contractions. Every gesture pulls at the skin, causing creases that deepen over time. Botox Cosmetic is a neuromodulator. By easing the tension of targeted facial muscles, Botox provides a serene, smooth surface to treated skin.
