Reveal Youthful, Smooth Skin with Fractional Laser Resurfacing

The laser’s semi-ablative, fractionalized beam will sweep away old and dying skin cells at the surface. But, in their passing, the cells slough off and make way for a truly stunning resurgence in younger, smoother skin. The fractional laser does more than remove the obstacles to exciting new growth. Its beam actually supercharges the healing process. Even your old, worn scars will start to fade when your body’s natural powers of regeneration are unleashed. The young skin that appears after laser skin resurfacing is not a cosmetic trick or some other aesthetic illusion. It is your real skin looking more smooth and supple than it has in years. Laser skin resurfacing helps bring your best self to the surface and sets your young passions free to reclaim their place in the world. Dr. Joshua Korman will help curate your personal renaissance. About Light-Based Skin Therapy

Fractional laser skin resurfacing is a new way to refresh the surface of your skin on a microscopic level. Dr. Korman will target old and damaged skin cells and expose them to the relentless, fractionalized power of the laser beam. Frationalized means the beam’s creative destruction is not total. It will leave some skin cells undamaged and untouched. Our patients who have tried fractional resurfacing love its relatively short recovery time. People can barely contain the excitement in their positive reviews. They say their skin seems brighter and more alive after the treatment. This is an amazing option for the eccentric citizens of Silicon Valley, some of whom are seeking to permanently defer the cumulative effects of aging. Some even dream of a day not far off when we will reverse our advancing years and perhaps even conquer death?  While certainly no “fountain of youth,” your revitalized, young skin will truly appear to have come from another time when your face had fewer fine lines and more of the sincere nonchalance of uncorrupted innocence. Laser resurfacing removes age spots, acne scars and deep wrinkles. Because it targets such fine areas, Dr. Korman can use intensive energy lasers that allow his patients to flaunt their rejuvenated skin almost immediately.

Safe Skin Rejuvenation

Laser resurfacing is a nonsurgical, noninvasive treatment that restores raw vitality to your face, neck, chest and hands. The laser is a catalyst that awakens new energies in your skin. Your reinvigorated cells are abuzz in the rosy-cheeked essence of life. Even old scars start to heal as if picking up where they left off many years ago. You are temporarily granted increased capacities for regeneration in the treatment area. Your signs of aging are simply undone by the relentless onslaught of constant renewal.

Benefits Of Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

  • Visibly reduces scars and wrinkles in as little as one treatment
  • Stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to produce new and vibrant cells
  • Sweeps away old and damaged skin cells, including scar tissue
  • Inspires collagen production to boost your supple skin
  • Stronger settings can rejuvenate more resilient skin on the hands, neck and décolletage
  • Effective on darker skin tones
  • Fractional laser technology shortens downtime compared to ablative laser resurfacing

Moreover, laser resurfacing with the Sciton ProFractional laser allows for incredible results with minimal downtime. Patients can typically return to work right away after treatment. The redness usually takes three days (or less) to fade.

For this reason, patients sometimes choose to schedule their appointments on a Friday, giving them more time to recover from their treatment. They will emerge, reborn, from their dim bedrooms on Sunday morning. Having been purified by the semi-ablative beam of fractionalized laser skin resurfacing, they now appear resurrected and renewed as fresh-cut tulips on Easter.

Qualified Candidates

Both men and women with visible flaws on the outermost layer of their skin may be good candidates for laser skin resurfacing. Common areas where the laser is applied include the face, neck, chest and hands. However, it can be used almost anywhere on the body. Patients should be non-smokers, since smoking can affect the patient’s ability to heal. Laser resurfacing depends on the skin’s ability to heal following treatment. If the patient does smoke, then they will need to commit to quitting prior to the treatment and during the recovery time. Laser skin resurfacing will tighten the skin to an extent, but isn’t generally for use on patients with more extensive sagging or drooping skin. These patients may want to consider a more comprehensive procedure, such as a facelift. In order to determine whether or not one would be a good candidate for ProFractional laser resurfacing, contact our one of our offices today and schedule an appointment.

Procedure

Once you complete a consultation, you will receive instructions regarding your preparation for laser skin resurfacing. You may be advised to maintain a specific series of skin treatments or to discontinue the use of certain medications. If you have any questions regarding your preparation for your laser treatment please do not hesitate to call Dr. Korman’s office. Your fractional laser skin resurfacing will be administered under local anesthesia to maintain your comfort during the procedure. You will be given protective eyewear, and your skin will be cleansed. Next, based on the specific skin issues you discussed with Dr. Korman, the fractional laser is applied to ablate your damaged, discolored and aging tissue.

The laser energy will also reach to the depth of the skin where the collagen production has diminished and expose the tissue to the temperature required to jumpstart the creation of new collagen, safely. The skin will become smoother and fuller, with minimal damage done to the surrounding tissue. Depending on the scale of work that the patient would like done, this treatment can take from between 30 minutes to one hour. Most patients only need one treatment to achieve their ideal transformation. If patients are unsatisfied with the results of their first laser resurfacing procedure after the two months of recovery, they can undergo a second resurfacing treatment and take their skin to its ideal, clear and radiant appearance.

Laser Skin Treatment Aftercare

Laser skin resurfacing achieves impressive results because it is capable of penetrating deeper into the dermis. This not only results in long-lasting improvement of skin irregularities and discolorations, but it also achieves optimum rejuvenation of your collagen and deep skin health. Recovery time will depend on the depth of the patient’s laser treatment. In the days following the treatment, patients’ skin will be pink or flushed. The sensation will feel similar to a sunburn. The treated skin will peel for roughly two weeks. The skin will continue to be flushed for up to three to six weeks, but most patients are able to safely cover their skin with makeup after one week of recovery.
