Sculptra Butt Lift San Jose

A Sculptra Butt Lift is a non-surgical treatment to boost the buttocks’ contours, shape, and projection. Because of growing awareness and demand for a rounder, lifted butt, thousands of patients have turned to procedures like Sculptra Butt Lift to obtain a more attractive bottom. However, unlike other buttock-augmenting procedures, Sculptra Butt Lift requires no surgical preparation or significant downtime. With only a series of simple injections into the butt, patients can see a remarkable lift to the position and shape of their behind. As a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Joshua Korman MD has helped thousands of patients achieve their desired contours. If you would like to see elevated buttocks, please schedule a personal consultation at one of our three Central California offices. To reach our front desk staff, call us at:

About Butt Shape

For some, creating your ideal butt shape can be possible through diet and exercise; however, inherited traits largely determine the shape of your butt. Behinds come in one of four shapes: upside-down heart, V-shaped, round, and square. In 1993, researchers determined that part of a woman’s attractiveness resides in her waist-to-hip ratio. They found that women with a lower waist-to-hip ratio were generally seen as healthier and more attractive than women with a higher ratio.[1] Later studies showed that a beautiful, attractive butt does not sag or hang over its gluteal crease, but remains plump and firm.[2] In all, researchers concluded that the most attractive buttocks are one that has a hip-to-waist ratio of 0.7 and is an upside-down heart shape.[2] However, since these aesthetic characteristics are dictated primarily by innate factors, many women might not achieve this shape and size through diet and exercise. But, a Sculptra Butt Lift can change the shape of the buttocks and lift it over the gluteal crease.

Science Behind Sculptra

Sculptra Butt Lift San Jose

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid: a naturally occurring chemical that is biodegradable and safe in humans. When injected deep into the dermis, the poly-L-lactic acid induces local tissue retraction around the treated areas. This retraction causes a redevelopment of collagenous fibers that were lost due to aging. Over time, as the new collagen fibers build up the treated areas, the treated skin grows tighter with more volume.[3] While it has traditionally been used to restore volume loss in the face and neck, Sculptra has proven to be an effective non-surgical approach to achieving better defined and contoured buttocks. That’s because the new collagen builds up the skin’s scaffolding and generates more natural tissue in the areas. This new, healthy tissue adds sculpted volume to the butt and gives it a natural lift.

Benefits of Sculptra

Because a Sculptra Butt Lift is a non-surgical procedure, patients are astounded by the treatment’s overall simplicity. Other benefits of a Sculptra Butt Lift include:

No Downtime

Other gluteal enhancing procedures require the patient to avoid sitting during the entire postoperative period to allow for the alteration to heal properly. But because Sculptra requires no incision or general anesthesia, you will be able to walk out of your procedure and jump right back into your daily routine. This procedure is perfect for patients who have a busy schedule yet desire a rounder, firmer butt!

Long-Lasting Results

Poly-L-lactic acid is a biodegradable substance that usually takes around 25 months until the body naturally absorbs it.[3] After the treatment, the newly produced collagen fibers gradually enhance the appearance and lift of your buttocks, leading to continual improvement in the butt’s shape and firmness. Typically, after two years of enjoying life with a fuller frame, patients come back and reschedule another Sculptra Butt Lift session!

Your Consultation

The first step is to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Korman at one of our three offices. During your consultation, we will explain how Sculptra injections work and give you a timetable for results. We will then note the current shape of your buttocks and listen to how you wish they were shaped. Learning about your ideal appearance will help us discern if Sculptra is the right approach or if another gluteal augmentation approach is better suited for your needs.

Preparation

At your consultation, we will give you a list of preparatory steps that you need to adhere to before your procedure. It is best to get a good night’s rest before your Sculptra Butt Lift and arrive a couple of minutes early at our offices on the day of your appointment. During the days leading up, please refrain from taking any blood-thinning medications like Advil, ibuprofen, or aspirin as these may cause excessive bleeding.

Procedure

The Sculptra injection can be mixed with lidocaine to deter any pain or discomfort during your procedure.

Recovery & Results

After the procedure, your butt will be numb and might bruise or appear swollen from the injections. This is normal and will typically subside in the coming days. Over the next few weeks and months, your buttocks will appear fuller, and the skin will tighten. Many of our patients can’t believe how only a couple of simple injections can yield such a substantial lift. For those interested in seeing results like these, please schedule a personal consultation today!

Surgical Alternative to Sculptra Butt Lift

For those interested in a longer-lasting solution to a bigger, rounder butt, Dr. Korman also performs surgical butt augmentation. With butt augmentation, Dr. Korman uses either fat cells from your body or gluteal implants to create your desired buttocks. Dr. Korman transfers the fat cells using liposuction techniques and then cleanses them before relocating subcutaneously over the gluteus maximus. He then molds and shapes them to a smooth, rounded contour. For gluteal implants, Dr. Korman will explain how they work and help you decide which ones are best for you and your frame. During the surgery, he will place the implants on top of the muscle to promote a fuller, lifted appearance. Since these two options are surgical procedures, they require more preparation and recovery time but yield longer-lasting results than a Sculptra Butt Lift.

FAQ

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a dermal filler that is traditionally used to restore areas around the face that have experienced volume loss. A Sculptra injection contains poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate collagen growth in the treated area, erase wrinkles, fine lines, and restore any lost volume. In recent years, Sculptra has been increasingly used to build better contours in the butt and provide an overall lift to the area. Because of the new collagen fibers produced by the poly-L-lactic acid, the skin tissue expands and tightens. This helps patients have bigger, rounder buttocks for up to two years.
