Choosing cosmetic surgery as a way to improve your appearance and self-confidence is a significant personal decision. Many times, our patients are interested in cosmetic surgery, but the scars from the procedures make them reconsider. If you are concerned with the scars that are associated with your cosmetic surgeries, such as a tummy tuck or breast augmentation, speak with Dr. Korman about embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy.
WHAT IS embrace ADVANCED SCAR THERAPY?
embrace™ is an advanced scar treatment that helps reduce the appearance of scars after your cosmetic surgeries. Scars develop as a result of injury to your skin. Normal, uninjured skin has a very organized structure of collagen that gives your skin a smooth appearance. When you injure your skin, the body closes the wound by creating new layers of collagen. The collagen fibers of the new layers are disorganized, which is why a scar has a different texture and appearance than the rest of your skin. The process of wound healing also creates tension in your skin. By reducing this tension, embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy reduces the size and severity of your scars.
WHAT TO EXPECT FOLLOWING embrace ADVANCED SCAR THERAPY?
The embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy dressing is applied to your incision area after your cosmetic surgery. For best results, you should use embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy for at least eight weeks and change the dressing weekly. While embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy may not completely eliminate your cosmetic surgery scars, the scars you do have are significantly less noticeable than comparable scars that develop without embrace™ Advanced Scar Therapy.
